Change is happening too quickly
At some point, we bump up against the ‘periphery of our lives’ which seems to be spinning incredibly fast. Perhaps we get promoted or demoted, married, divorced or widowed, or find ourselves taking on more responsibility with a family: children or ageing parents or simply buying a dog!.
Maybe we find the same familiar issues coming back to haunt us in our new job or relationship, or we get caught in the stress of work, and find out lives completely out of balance. Maybe we have been diligently climbing the career ladder to reach the peak of our professional success, only to discover we are still not happy nor satisfied. Or maybe we are having challenges with our health, levels of stress and are not sure which steps to take to get us back on track.
Change seems to be happening quicker and quicker these days bringing its own dynamics and disruptions. It is in times of challenge that we can find ourselves feeling unsettled and completely ‘at sea,’ unable to find a firm footing or solid ground. In these moments, we often lose perspective. It can feel as though we are looking at the sky through a narrow tube. We can see the sky, but only a small fraction of it. We know there is a bigger picture out there somewhere, but we are unsure of how to find it.
Some of the benefits of personal coaching include:
Developing an integrated ‘way of being’ in the world
By integrating the different domains of our way of being – the head, heart, body and soul, we are able to deepen intellectual, emotional, somatic and intuitive wisdom / spiritual intelligence to deal with life more robustly.
Greater levels of stickiness
Personal development requires time to take root and grow. Through coaching using the ontological approach I am committed to ensuring that your growth and learning “stick” over time.
Increased self-awareness
Becoming more mindful and aware in our daily lives can help us to reduce reactivity, change habitual patterns of behaviour, open possibilities and tap into vast potential.
Developing somatic wisdom
Coaching can support you to engage in new practices that enable you to meet life with greater presence, resilience, power and compassion. Using some of the latest wisdom from neuroscience, we focus on building the capacity of the body and the nervous system to deeply enhance an individual’s capacity to deal with change in the modern world.
Beating burnout and tackling other health challenges
Combined with Biofeedback and nutritional advice, the practice of coaching can help you build a robust level of health and wellbeing.
Achieve personal goals and dreams
We all want a good quality of existence in our life. Coaching can help you achieve specific goals and objectives in many areas of life.
Building authentic relationships & thriving communities
By honouring authenticity, communication and the power of relationships, coaching can assist you and others, to develop more collaborative, authentic trusting, relationships with significant others in your personal and professional environment. As communities are a network of conversations and relationships, strong foundations for thriving communities can also be developed through coaching.
Coaching is a valuable tool to help us open unseen possibilities and bring a greater sense of balance and perspective to our lives. It can help us to develop a greater sense of presence and personal power while expanding the range of choices that are available to us. Coaching has the ability to help us become different and better observers of ourselves and others giving us the capacity to tap into our innate wisdom and respond to life’s challenges with greater level of consciousness, skill and resourcefulness.
Combined with other modalities, personal coaching can also help us to find our centre of balance and tackle some of our stress/health related challenges by gaining grater insight into our physiology.
In the context of a supportive coaching partnership, you can build grater degrees of resilience and capacity: the blinkers come off, the clouds clear and the world begins to expand for us. Sometimes just having the opportunity to have a constructive conversation that focusses solely on you and your specific needs can make all the difference.
